II Beach Resort in Negril is a frequently used hotel. Prime position
on Negril's 7-mile white sand beach is the setting for this comfortable
resort hotel. just a stones throw away from Merrill's II is Merrill's
sister hotel. Hotel guests may enjoy both properties and eat in either
restaurant. Merrill's new sister hotel opened in March 1999 and is a 44
room, family-run hotel with a tropical garden, is situated right on gorgeous
7 mile beach. Cool and comfortable rooms offer huge verandahs or
patios with ocean views to enable your enjoyment of the awesome Jamaican
sunsets. Nightly entertainment is provided twice each week at the hotel
and for more entertainment there are many bars with live music along the
beach. Rooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, telephones with 24 hour
service, TV on request, a safe and a patio with table and chairs. Occupancy
limits - 3 adults, 2 children. There are two outdoor swimming pools and
available watersports include free kayaks on premises and water skiing,

There are nonsmoking rooms available, as well as handicapped rooms, based

WE FOUND A GREAT
AND ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL HOTEL ON THE BEACH: MERRILL'S II BEACH
RESORT. It was absolutely gorgeous. We had oceanfront
rooms that allowed one to see exquisite
views of the ocean from the verandah. The
resort was fairly new about 6 months old. The rooms
were beautifully decorated in a floral print. Each room
had it's own living room and a sectioned-off bedroom.
The staff was very helpful and courteous. The only
bad thing about the resort was the food. It wasn't worth $30 a day for
all-inclusive. There are some great places to eat a long the beach.
I would strongly recommend Kuyaba. The red snapper is great
and also try the Jamaican chicken. The night life
was great. The people there are so nice and very well spoken.
My boyfriend and I fell in love with Negril. Afterwards was truly "no
problem!" Go to Jamaica and relax!
MERRILL'S II IS A DELIGHTFUL LITTLE RESORT. It allows you to get in
touch with the real Jamaica. It is somewhat more modest than the larger
resorts and when we drove up I felt a little disappointed . We came
in a tourist van from the airport which had been stopping at some fairly
posh hotels. That feeling quickly changed as soon as we checked in and
started to explore the grounds. The grounds and the beach are beautiful.
The rooms are large and comfortable and all have patios or balconies
overlooking the gardens. Merrill's has a very personal, intimate atmosphere
which allows you to get to know the staff and guests. The staff is wonderful.
They are always working very hard to make sure you are well taken care
of. Some reviews critiqued the quality of the food. I have been the"guest"
of a Boston newspaper food critic so I have some comparative experience.
I thought the food quality was excellent! Every meal featured fresh
fruits and vegetables, there are three separate dining areas to select
from, and each one is serving something different. Amongst the main
courses, there was always seafood and authentic Jamaican regional cuisine
to select from. The fresh fruit blenders were superb.The majority of
the guests seem to be European and in my opinion that made things a
lot more fun. I enjoyed things so well, in fact, that I am paying nearly
double to go back for this Christmas/New Years!
MERRILL'S II IS AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT: BEAUTIFUL, SERENE GROUNDS. Friendly
and helpful service. Food was always flavorful. Beach was clean. Nice
sized rooms. Beds were firm. Large fluffy bath towels. Pool was clean
and cool (nice cool down after baking in the sun). Great Location. Perfect
in every way. We can't think of anything to complain about!!!! We will
come back again!
THIS WAS MY FIRST TRIP TO JAMAICA (AUGUST 7 - 14 2003) BUT IT WILL NOT
BE MY LAST. If you're looking for information about Jamaica in general,
here's a little advice: (1) There's no need to exchange your US currency.
Everyone in Jamaica is trying to sell something (usually for "20
American dollars"), so I wouldn't bring anything larger than a
twenty. And never pay the asking price for anything, Jamaicans are always
willing to negotiate. (2)
BRING YOUR BUG REPELLANT!! I had so many mosquito bites my legs looked
like I had chicken pox. A can of OFF is a must. They sell it at the
gift shop, but it's cheaper if you but it in the states. (3) Bring along
a few extra dollars for tipping. Although your travel agent will tell
you that tips are including, some people are so attentive that you might
want to give them a little something extra. (4) If you want to sit out
on the beach, get out there early or all of the beach chairs will be
gone. The front desk will supply you with beach towels. Most people
used their towels to claim their chairs before breakfast.I (along with
two friends) stayed at the Merrill's II Beach Resort. If you're on a
budget (like me) and you want to get the best value for your money,
this is the perfect place to stay. The staff is excellent! The grounds
are will kept and beautiful. Each room has a porch with a table and
chairs. My room had a TV, telephone, and air conditioning (another reviewer
stated that most of the rooms as at this resort doesn't have a TV or
telephone). While we were there we did two excursions, horseback riding
and YS Falls. I had never been on a horse before, but the guides were
more than helpful and I had a great time. We rode for two miles to the
ocean and then swam with the horses in the ocean. I didn't think swimming
with a horse sounded like the most interesting thing to do (especially
since I can't swim), but it was a lot of fun. We also went to YS Falls.
This excursion included lunch, which was excellent. The guides will
carry your camera and take pictures of you and your friends without
the falls. It's well worth the money.I had such a great time in Jamaica
I'm going again in December 2003 to bring in the new year!!
MY WIFE AND I JUST GOT BACK FROM MERRILS II. This was our second stay
there and I must say it's as great as the first time. The room was a
little noisy this time, due to a clicking A/C and for some reason the
lid on the toilet wouldn't stay up, but other than that it was wonderful.
The staff, aside from the front desk are wonderful...Maurice and Patrick
at the bar are always going the extra mile to earn your "Respect".
The beach peddlers remembered us by name and one of them still held
a business card that I had given them 2 years ago. We love Negril and
wouldn't stay anywhere else on the island. If you have any questions
about Negril, or specifically Merrill's, feel free to drop me a line.
It's reasonable and the food is good. I would make one suggestion though;
they should have someone on the beach taking drink orders, Ya Mon!

in the party must be 18 or older. This one offers a fabulous beach and
a quaint town! Included is roundtrip air from most major international
continental US airports and 7 nights all inclusive hotel accommodations
beachfront or a short walk, such as a block or two, to the beach. Price
is based on midweek travel. Vacations based on double occupancy. Taxes,
transfers, phone calls and personal items are additional. This vacation
offer is based on double occupancy and prices are per person. All travel
is subject to availability until booked and confirmed. Packages are based
on midweek travel (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday departures) and 60 days

If dates requested are not available you may be offered other available

travel and stay in the same room as the parents, the price for them is

What happens after I order? When we receive your credit approved

forms, fill them out and send them in with payment of US$60/person which
goes toward your trip price. The balance is paid in two installments.

What is the availability?
